The Fratellis are the first headliner announced for this year’s Brownstock Festival, which takes place at Morris Farm, Chelmsford, in Essex from August 30 until September 1.
Other acts confirmed today for the event are star producer Mark Ronson (playing a DJ set), Yorkshire indie band Pigeon Detectives, Benga & Youngman, and Doorly.
They join a line-up that already includes DJ Yoda, Roni Size and The Cuban Brothers.
Brownstock is run by the Brown family, who will also select many unsigned acts from the local music scene.
Musicians can apply to play at Brownstock through their Facebook app, which also lets fans have a say in the process.
Now in its sixth year, Brownstock hosts 6,000 visitors and also stages comedy, storytelling and a variety of other entertainment.
Tickets for Brownstock, priced at £65, are available now from the official website.
