American R&B singer Robin Thicke has shot straight to the top of the singles chart with ‘Blurred Lines’.
A collaboration with Pharrell Williams and TI, it’s the fastest-selling song of the year so far, shifting 190,000 copies in its first week alone.
Meanwhile, Daft Punk‘s dominance of the the album chart continues this week, with Random Access Memories holding on to the No.1 spot.
The French electro duo are enjoying the most successful year of their career to date, with their fourth studio album the fastest selling LP of 2013 so far. It sold a further 53,000 copies to stay top, ahead of Rod Stewart‘s Time.
Singer-songwriter Laura Marling enters the album chart at No.3 with Once I Was An Eagle, the high point of her career so far.
Girl group Stooshe are this week’s second highest new entry with their debut album, London With Lights On, entering at No.8.
In the singles chart, last week’s No.1, Naughty Boy and Sam Smith‘s ‘La La La’, falls to No.2, while Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ falls to the third spot.
