Indie-folk favourites Frightened Rabbit have announced their biggest UK tour to date, after their most recent album was a top 10 hit.
‘Frabbits’, as they’re known to fans, kick off their tour in Newcastle on November 5 and bring it to a close with two nights at Glasgow’s O2 Academy (16 and 17 Nov).
The band, who hail from the Scottish Borders town of Selkirk, also posted a track from their upcoming EP, ‘The Woodpile’, which is released on September 1.

After three critically-acclaimed albums, Frightened Rabbit hit the big time with their fourth full-length, Pedestrian Verse, which came out on major label Atlantic Records in February.
It peaked at No 9 in the UK charts, and has also earned them a prestigious support slot with The National in the United States next month.
Currently on the UK festival circuit, they played their biggest show to date at this year’s T in the Park. They also packed the John Peel stage at Glastonbury in June, played Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and will appear on the NME/Radio 1 stage at the Reading and Leeds festival.
In an email newsletter to fans, singer Scott Hutchison wrote:
“Alongside The Woodpile, we’re releasing 3 brand new tracks to compile a new EP. Two of these songs were written in May of this year (Radio Silence & Candlelit) and one was worked up from an older demo that didn’t made the cut when we were recording Pedestrian Verse (this one’s called ‘Default Blues’). We tracked the songs at one of our favourite studios in the country, The Diving Bell Lounge in Glasgow, with the help of Marcus Mackay. It feels good to have some new material to send your way, we hope you like the sound of it.”
