Created in 2012 by soul powerhouse Maryam Ghaffari, the choir’s enthusiasm for uplifting soul music has captured the imagination of the community, with membership growing all the time.

Singer-songwriter and professional musician Maryam’s commercial career includes appearing on various compilation albums as a solo vocalist, and her most successful track was a dance cover of ‘Street Life’, by Randy Crawford and The Crusaders.

As well as performing at their grand end-of-term concerts, Edinburgh’s Got Soul also appear at smaller gigs, which allows everyone involved to experience the fun and excitement of public performance, while also building confidence and a sense of teamwork.

No experience is needed to join Edinburgh’s Got Soul, there are no auditions, and there’s no need to read sheet music.

Workshops take place on Tuesdays, 6.30pm – 8pm at Thomas Morton Hall, 28-30 Ferry Road, EH6 4AE.

If you would like to get involved with the choir, phone 07827 413273 or email info@edinburghsgotsoul.co.uk.
