Netflix are looking for ‘Taggers’ – Is this the best job ever?

Can you imagine looking up at your loved ones after a long day slobbing in front of the TV, covered in the remnants of a pack of Doritos and being asked, ‘tough day at the office, dear?’

[Slogging it through shows like Breaking Bad could soon be a work assignment.]

Well Netflix are giving one lucky so&so from the UK and Ireland the chance to be the online streaming company’s first UK ‘Tagger’.

The job application explains that the ‘tagging process’ is “the first stage of the Netflix recommendation system and works in concert with advanced algorithms that generate highly personalized suggestions for every one of Netflix’s nearly 50 million users”.

The role would require watching and analysing television content that would be streamed on Netflix in the future, meaning we’ve finally reached a point in our society where we’re paying people to watch TV for us. A glorious time or a looming harbinger of the end of days?  More importantly, who even cares as long as we’re being paid to watch TV?

Successful applicants would be able to watch hit shows such as House Of Cards and Orange is the New Black before their release date, all in the name of analysis.

The ‘Tagger’ job requires a cinephile with a background in new media and an analytical mind. The working hours are described as  ‘flexible’ (7pm in your pants is fine then?) and the job will be working from home (no kidding).

If this job sounds suitable for you then apply here and become the couch potato you’ve always wanted to be; a paid one.

You can watch the video below for more information, but people will be frantically applying while you waste your time reading this.
