Edinburgh Festival Fringe review (musicals and opera): Character Limit at C Too (venue 4). Review by Claire Smith
According to the creators of this musical, the internet has turned the brains of young people into soup – and not in a good way.
Alienation, social media addiction and online bullying are all tackled here and there is an earnest attempt to address casual sexism. But it is a listless affair, the music is dreary, the songs unmemorable and there is a failure to establish character, narrative and plot.
The writers have forgotten to explain who the people on stage are – which is a problem if they expect the audience to care about them or their issues.
Until 9 August. Today 2pm, more info
