Kava Girls

Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review (musicals and opera): Kava Girls at Spotlites@ the Merchants’ Hall (Venue 278). Review by Fiona Shepherd

Kava Girls is a cut-price Chorus Line with a Pacific twist, in that one of the three understudies – or cover (Kava) girls – raiding the dressing-up box while waiting for their big chance is a young transgender Samoan whose ambitions have yet to be frustrated.

However, the cast seem a little apologetic, giving small performances of small songs in a small room. What happened to dreaming big?

Until 25 August. Today 4:05pm.
