Sean Morley: Diffident

Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review (comedy): Sean Morley: Diffident at Ibis Hotel Southbridge (venue 303). Review by Kate Copstick

I was stopped by a young man with a beautiful flyer outside a tent half-way down the stairs between Chambers St and Cowgate. So I stayed for the show. It seems like there is a marvellously thoughtful comic in here trying to get out. “Ideologically motivated comedy cannot work in an echo chamber” he posits. “All you can do onstage is make people happy for a bit … you are not going to cure cancer.”

However the tent flap is uncontrollable and people keep walking past and Sean is fretting and easily distracted. But definitely one to watch.

Until 23 August. Today 2:30pm.
