Actress Jessica Sherr talks to WOW247’s Matthew Dunne-Miles about her show Bette Davis Ain’t for Sissies and getting into the mindset of a Hollywood icon.

Despite taking on the famous silver screen figure in her play, Jessica Sherr admits she wasn’t always a huge Bette Davis fan:

“I didn’t know a whole lot about her, but a friend of mine said ‘you have Bette Davis eyes’.

“I wanted to do a show about a funny redhead but I felt she would be challenging as an actor to conquer. I had no idea I was going to write a one-person show. It totally snowballed”

Now that Sherr has immersed herself in the role, she feels that she’s learnt a lot from her time as the character:

“So much courage, she’s such a courageous being. Sometimes as Jessica I feel afraid to ask but as Bette – I just ask.

“She’s taught me to be courageous about life and just go out and get what you want.”
