The Black Widow movie that everyone is waiting for could attract British director Neil Marshall – best-known for Dog Soldiers, The Descent, and two epic episodes of Game Of Thrones.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Marshall was enthusiastic about the possibility of directing Scarlett Johansson in a much discussed Marvel spin-off, saying:
“I would love to do a Black Widow movie. That’s perfect.
“That character is really interesting. She doesn’t have any superpowers, she just has extraordinary skills, and the world that she comes from, being this ex-K.G.B. assassin.”
Marshall helmed the boldest and biggest episodes of Game of Thrones including ‘Blackwater’ and ‘The Watchers on the Wall’. The latter earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
Johansson made a real impression as the ass-kicking S.H.I.E.L.D operative in the first Avengers movie, Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but is yet to have a stand-alone movie.
