Everyone’s favourite Mormon will be again looking to cut loose from The Killers for his second solo album next year.
Brandon Flowers has confirmed that he will be looking to release a solo album in 2015, the follow-up to his 2010 debut album Flamingo.
The Killers frontman broke the news to the NME when they spoke to him for their latest issue, and on the subject of the new album Brandon admitted to being excited:
“The record’s not done yet, but I’m excited about it… I’m liking it.
“People are going to interpret it how they will, but there’s only a little bit of Vegas in there.”
The singer was quick to quash any rumours that this could mark the end of The Killers however, who released a greatest his compilation last year.
Flowers is working on the new album with producer Ariel Rechtstaid, known for his work with Haim, Snoop Lion and We Are Scientists. He admits that initially it was a difficult process:
“He’s taking me out of my comfort zone. Normally I make demos and they’re pretty similar to how the song ends up. but he’ll take a song and be like, ‘I hear this’. It’s incredible – his palette and his range, what he’s able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we’re hitting it off.”
The new album is due some time next year and we’re willing to back any project that could potentially stop ‘Mr Brightside’ being played in nightclubs so often.
