Scottish Album of the Year Award longlist revealed

The 20-strong longlist for the Scottish Album of the Year Award (SAY Award) has been announced, with records by the likes of Belle and Sebastian, Idlewild and Paolo Nutini vying for the prestigious prize.

Won last year by Young Fathers for Tape Two (before they went on to win the Mercury Prize for follow-up DEAD), the SAY Award carries a £20,000 first prize, with nine runners-up prizes of £1,000.

Music fans will have the chance to sample the longlisted albums each weekday from Monday (27 Apr), when a different LP will be available to stream each day on

The public vote to decide the shortlist of ten will begin on May 25, and the outcome announced on May 28.

The SAY Award winner will be revealed in a ceremony at the O2 ABC in Glasgow on June 17.
