It may still be November but we’re already just a bit excited about Christmas here in Edinburgh.
That’s because this city does Crimbo better than most, from the magnificent Norwegian tree on the Mound to the glittering lights of George Street to the wonderful festive markets.
And in recent years Edinburgh’s Christmas has kept the bleak midwinter at bay with a growing reputation for its programme of festive entertainment for all the family.

International circus company Circa make their Edinburgh’s Christmas debut, having wowed at the Fringe with Wunderkammer, Close Up and Beyond. Get up close and personal in the magical 1920s Spiegeltent with extraordinary circus performers and enter a beautiful and bewitching world. This intimate, red-curtained realm draws us into a cabaret, a zoo, an asylum… and a stage. Featuring dazzling feats of circus prowess, and an infectiously fun soundtrack, Beyond will get you in the Christmas spirit and set your pulse racing.

Stick Man – Live On Stage!

From the book by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo, this is a fantastick story for all branches of the family tree! Scamp Theatre’s delightful adaptation of Donaldson and Scheffler’s hugely popular children’s book Stick Man is back in Edinburgh for Christmas. Touching, funny and utterly original, this award-winning production is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.
