AC/DC announce 2016 London and Manchester shows – keeping Glastonbury weekend free

Australian rock legends AC/DC have announced a series of 2016 European tour dates, including two stadium shows in the UK in June.

The ‘Back in Black’ heavy metal band play the Olympic Stadium in London on June 4 and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 9 as part of their ‘Rock or Bust World Tour’.

But the timing of those dates has already sparked rumours that they’re in line to headline Glastonbury Festival, which takes place in Somerset from June 26.

Among the bookies’ other favourites to headline the 2016 festival are Coldplay, Adele and the Foo Fighters, who had to cancel their Glasto show this year after Dave Grohl broke his leg during a gig in Sweden.

Tickets for AC/DC’s two UK dates go on sale on Friday (18 Dec) at 9.30am via www.acdc.com/tour.
