The Specials have announced details of an extensive UK tour later this year – see full dates below.
Starting in Nottingham on October 19, the 2Tone legends have 18 shows lined up, ending with a double-header at London’s Troxy venue in mid-November.
It will also be the first time the band, famous for hits like ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘A Message To You Rudy’, have ever played Scunthorpe, Llandudno, York, Exeter, Reading and Cambridge.
The UK tour is the first time the band have hit the road since the death of drummer and multi-instrumentalist John (Brad) Bradbury in December last year.
Talking about this tour, founding member Terry Hall said:
“We started working on these dates last October. Everyone was really looking forward to them and then just after Christmas Brad passed away. It was devastating but in our heart of hearts we know he would want us to continue with the plan he helped to put together.”
Only three of the original members of The Specials – Hall (vocals), Lynval Golding (guitar/vocals) and Horace Panter (bass) – remain in the current line-up, with new additions to the band since their 2008 reunion.
