The best new additions to Amazon Prime in March

Amazon Prime is still battling it out with rival Netflix for the top spot when it comes to streaming sites.

But it looks like Amazon Prime isn’t pulling any punches this March, with a host of impressive movies and TV shows coming to the site for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s our pick of the best new additions:

Dallas Buyers Club

What is it? Matthew McConaughey bagged himself an Oscar for astonishing performance here. The true story follows an AIDS sufferer who decided to take on the big pharmaceutical companies who are not providing the medication that could help treat him and those who are in his situation. This is a real life David and Goliath tale.

Insidious: Chapter 3

What is it? Following on from the success of the first two terrifying instalments in the Insidious saga, the third offering will have you curled up behind the sofa and sleeping with the lights on. The plot is set before the events of the first two films, and follows a teenage girl who has became the target of a malevolent supernatural being. Her only chance for survival is psychic Elise Rainier. Don’t watch this one alone.

Danny Collins

What is it? Some much needed lighthearted fun after being scared s***less by our last pick. Based on a true story, Al Pacino stars as the titular aging rocker who is persuaded to change his rock and roll lifestyle after finding a letter from one of his idols. After trying to make an effort to reconnect with his son, Collins is forced to take stock of the choices he’s made throughout his career. The script is full of fast and witty lines that come together in heartwarming fashion.

The Lego Movie

What is it? Everything is awesome in this surprisingly excellent hour and a half advert for one of the world’s best known toys. The story follows the seemingly ordinary Emmet, a construction worker, who has been prophesied as the ‘chosen one’ who will save the Lego universe from an evil tyrant. This is an absolutely hilarious flick and the voice acting of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell and Morgan Freeman only add to the quality of the laughs here.
