American alt-rockers The Dandy Warhols are returning with a new single and UK tour dates.
It’s been four years since the Portland group released their last album This Machine, but their new album Distortland is set for release on April 8.
The band have shared the album’s second single ‘STYGGO’ on YouTube, with frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor describing it as being about “billionaire scumbags”:
“The world is full of corporate billionaire scumbags who pollute the earth, kill wildlife, cause cancer, secretly running nations into the ground, and the moronic masses who just agree with their mindless slogans and will never fight the good fight to help to stop them, until finally the last blistered blind three armed mutant dregs of humanity eat each other’s putrid flesh in mankind’s final nauseating death throws. Some Things You Gotta Get Over.”
The single itself may have some heavy themes, but it’s balanced out with enough melodic backing and ‘doo doo doos’ to make this a bright poppy single – partly down to producer Jim Lowe, who has previously worked with Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
The Dandies are also set for a UK tour with eight shows including Bristol, Newcastle, Belfast and Glasgow too.
