The Nice Guys: Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe’s comedy team-up is looking good
The Nice Guys movie promotional shot

It might be time to get excited for The Nice Guys, the new Shane Black directed ’70s crime-caper comedy starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.

To be honest, the premise alone is enough to get us scrambling loose change together for a cinema ticket.

But the trailers so far have looked pretty good, and a brand new preview continues to build up the hype.

Watch the trailer, and see for yourselves:

Set in 1977, Gosling stars as a down-and-out private eye by the name of Holland March, forced to work with Crowe’s hired enforcer Jackson Healy, despite the fact that the latter has done him a serious physical injury.

They’re sent to investigate the case of a missing girl named Amelia (Margaret Qualley), but things quickly get out of control, and before long they’re stumbling across dead porn stars before a huge conspiracy takes them to the very top.

It looks to be a hilarious odd-couple crime romp, in the mould of Black’s own Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, with Crowe and Gosling sparring their way through the latest trailer in barbarous fashion.

With Black at the helm we could be looking at one of the more genuinely humourous movies of the year so far.

The Nice Guys is due for release on June 3
