Glasgow breakfast ‘munchie box’ takes internet by storm

The Scottish cooked breakfast – with its subtle yet important differences to the English version – is a much-loved, gloriously unhealthy start to the day.

With its square/Lorne sausage, black pudding, tattie scone, egg, bacon, beans, mushroom and tomato, it’s the kind of cholesterol-packed, artery-clogging treat that will kick any hangover (and diet) into submission.

In a genius move, several cafés in Scotland have recently started to offer cooked breakfasts as takeaway options, for those who want their fatty fix with zero energy expenditure.

And now one of these options – a 9″ Breakfast Munchie Box by Bits n Pieces café in Glasgow’s Southside – has taken the internet by storm.

A Reddit user posted their photo of the heavyweight offering and so far it has been upvoted on the site’s food channel more than 4,000 times.
