Liverpool Sound City 2016: Pete Doherty to headline
Pete Doherty

Liverpool Sound City will now include Pete Doherty as the Sunday headliner.

The Libertine will be performing solo on the North Stage at May’s annual indie festival gathering down at Bramley-Moore Dock, joining an already impressive line-up of live acts and DJ sets.

Pete has recently been touring with the reunited Libertines, who released their third album Anthems for Doomed Youth after an eleven-year hiatus.

The singer-songwriter is also set for a solo tour, taking in Bristol, Glasgow, Newcastle and London. His last solo record was Grace/Wastleands released back in 2009.

Liverpool Sound City is a two-day festival on the banks of the river Mersey – which this year is sporting a line-up including Sleaford Mods, Leftfield, The Coral, Young Fathers and a Hot Chip DJ set.

That’s us convinced.

Liverpool Sound City takes place from May 28-29
