The Libertines Velvet Underground

The Libertines’ Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have joined founding Velvet Underground member John Cale live on stage to perform 1968 classic ‘White Light/White Heat’ in Paris.

You can watch the cool team-up here:

The special concert saw Cale perform Velvet Underground’s iconic Velvet Underground & Nico album in its entirety, almost forty years after its release, though there was room for other songs including the aforementioned rock duet (the title track of the ‘Underground’s following 1968 record).

Other special guests on the night included Animal Collective, Mark Lanegan, Etienne Daho and Lemon Jelly’s Nick Franglen.
