Still Game has become one of the most popular sitcoms in Scotland (and beyond, thanks to UK-wide re-runs) – and now it’s set to return for a new series.
It’s been confirmed that the show that follows the escapades of Glasgow pensioners Jack and Victor will get a seventh series before Christmas this year.
The return of Still Game follows their hugely successful live comeback at the SSE Hydro, where they played 21 nights in front of 210,000 people.

Ford Kiernan, who played Jack Jarvis, said: “We’re super happy to come back with the show – we had no idea how much it had been missed until we played the Hydro. Myself and Greg are really excited about getting the gang together again and we are putting our all in to make our fantastic audience feel like we’ve never been away.”
Greg Hemphill added: “We are thrilled to be given this opportunity, with the full support of the BBC network, to don the bunnets once more. On behalf of all the cast, I’d like to thank Still Game fans for keeping the show alive after all these years. We’ll save a seat for you in The Clansman.”
Sanjeev Kohli, who plays grumpy shopkeeper Navid, announced the news in inspired fashion:
It's official! The news of Still Game coming back on the telly has BROKEN KIM KARDASHIAN'S ARSE!

Still Game has gained a cult following thanks to UK-wide repeats on BBC2 and, more recently, its addition to Netflix.
While the original six series screened on BBC Scotland only, the new series will be broadcast nationally on BBC One.
So there’s sure to be a huge amount of anticipation for the return of Jack and Victor, not to mention Isa, Navid, Bobby, Winston and Tam.
