Watch as Edinburgh’s latest sculpture touches down
The Rook George Street Edinburgh

It’s been a while since Edinburgh’s city centre was home to two Kelpie statues, but now Glasgow sculptor Andy Scott has created a new addition to George Street.

The 14ft tall Rook chess piece arrived outside Hamilton & Inches silversmiths this morning, with the sculpture both celebrating the shop’s 150th anniversary and the creation of a new bespoke chess set.

The Rook will remain in the city centre for the duration of the Fringe and will make a perfect selfie opportunity for passing tourists.
