Fringe shows you need to see: Michelle Wolf
michelle wolf

In our ongoing series of WOW 24/7 recommended shows, New York comedian Michelle Wolf blesses the fringe with her first solo show.

What is it?

Michelle is best known for her punchy and edgy brand of humour that has seen her appear as a contributor on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Late Night with Seth Myers.

The upcoming US election, JFK’s assassination and Wolf’s dating life are all covered in this assured debut show.

Why should I see it?

Despite this being her first solo show, Michelle Wolf has the confidence of a Fringe veteran, seamlessly navigating through a witty and observant repertoire of jokes.

Gags on US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are humorous and unique, which in the age of social media is an achievement in itself. That being said, Wolf is slightly guilty of assuming that her audience knows the ins an outs of American politics.

When she steers away from all things American and instead focuses her dating life, Wolf is at her best effortlessly whipping the crowd into hysterics as she tells about the lengths she’ll go to to scare off a clingy first date failure.

One gets the feeling it won’t be long before Michelle Wolf is playing in bigger venues, so get along and enjoy her while you can afford it.

Stand-out moment?

When she said that woman should strive to be like small men.

How can I see it?
