Darth Vader is back in a new Star Wars movie (in case you hadn’t heard)

A brand new trailer for arguably the most exciting Star Wars film yet dropped last night, featuring the ominous return of galactic uber-villain Darth Vader

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first film in the franchise not to follow the traditional ‘episodic’ format, and is being heralded as the series’ first ‘Anthology’ movie.

Out in December, we’ve just been graced with a second full trailer. The first got everyone a little bit excited – and this is only likely to further that anticipation.

Watch it now:

The new teaser is packed with new footage, giving fans a closer look at Felicity Jones as mercenary Jyn Erso, as well as Ben Mendelsohn’s Orson Krenic.

And of course, we get our first glimpse at Vader, a chief piece of the Death Star puzzle. The same Death Star our heroes are trying to steal the plans for in the film – a prequel to the original Star Wars (with us so far?).

Aside from that, we get peeks at the rest of the cast, including Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna, there’s old ships (X-wings!) and new ships, and a thrilling, beach based battle that looks like the producers spliced Star Wars with Saving Private Ryan.

It was also recently revealed that Rogue One will finish a mere ten minutes before the 1977 original A New Hope begins, making the two films perfect double-bill fodder.
