The most epic shots of yesterday’s storms across the UK

Some of you will be wondering what all of the fuss was about, while others will still be drying essential items of clothing

Yesterday (13 Sep) saw severely stormy weather hitting the north west of England, while southeners enjoyed the hottest September day since 1911.

People in Manchester were particularly affected by the inclement weather, with power only recently being restored to the 20,000 north west homes that lost it overnight.

But it wasn’t just Mancunians getting a soaking, and – as with any great storm – social media was abuzz with amazing shots of the storms and their aftermath.

Here are some of the most epic shots of yesterday’s downpours.

The UEFA Champions League Group A match between Manchester City FC and VfL Borussia Moenchengladbach at the Etihad Stadium was called off. It will now instead by played tonight (14 Sep).

It wasn’t just the Champions League that was affected. Westwards, Sheffield Wednesday’s Football League clash with Bristol City was also delayed due to stormy weather.

The weather also made an impact further afield
