Eight brand new openings to get excited about in Sheffield
Sheffield City View

From new restaurants and bars opening soon to fashion, sweet treats and even a trampolining centre, there’s plenty to discover in Sheffield this month.

We’ve had our ears to the ground – here’s our pick of what you really need to know about in your city this month.

1. Jöro has got our mouths watering

Jöro – built entirely from recycled shipping containers on the ground floor of the KRYNKL development in Shalesmoor – will have a close bond with nature, from local farms to hunters and foragers.

You can expect small plates to share here (incorporating hyper seasonal ingredients and locally sourced food) when this urban restaurant opens in November. A sample menu includes North Yorkshire peas cooked in lovage oil with chorizo and smoked garlic cream, or plaice cooked in pine butter.

2. The Botanist has landed

The Botanist (operated by The New World Trading Company) opened its tenth UK site just last week in Leopold Square, and it’s a big operation.

The huge bar covers ten thousand square feet across three floors of the Grade II listed building, and has a large outside area too. You can expect botanical cocktails and loads of gins and craft beers alongside a menu of deli, rotisserie and BBQ food, plus live music.

3. The new leisure centre has a trampolining centre

This new £16 million Graves development opened recently, and includes a 25 metre swimming pool with six lanes, a new fitness suite and studios, two additional indoor tennis courts, plus Sheffield’s first-ever dedicated gymnastics and trampolining centre.

4. Inc Rooftop Bar opens soon

Part of The Milestone Group, Inc Rooftop Bar will operate as a cafe and bar, with coffee in the mornings and cocktails throughout the day, plus plans for live music and street food pop-ups to follow. The bar is due to open soon in the KRYNKL development in Shalesmoor, with a part-open rooftop which can be used year-round.

5. A new sweet shop just opened in Meadowhall

Award-wining gourmet sweet shop, The Treat Kitchen, offers over 300 different kinds of sweets – from 24 varieties of gourmet jelly beans to traditionally-made seaside rock, chocolates and handmade fudge. They also stock sugar-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian and vegan sweets.

6. KIKO Milano has arrived on Fargate Street

Good news for beauty fans this autumn, as KIKO Milano (the leading brand in Europe for make-up and skin-care) opened a branch on Fargate Street at the very end of September. No more trips to Meadowhall to get your fix required.
