Bill Murray playing evil ghost in animated blockbuster ‘BOO’

He used to hunt sinister spectres in the hit Ghostbusters movies, but now much-loved comic actor Bill Murray has well and truly crossed over to the other side – by becoming an evil spirit himself.

Murray will voice ghostly villain Addison Drake in new DreamWorks blockbuster BOO: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations, with Seth Rogen, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Coolidge and Octavia Spencer also on board.

Announcing the casting, director Tony Leondis said:

“Bill Murray is the perfect actor to bring this character to life – or should I say ‘after-life?’.

“Along with Jennifer and Octavia, this is a dream cast. I can’t imagine a team more capable of packing a funnier punch to this broadly comedic ghost story.”

The supernatural action comedy follows two bumbling apparitions who find themselves in an extraordinary after-life adventure when they join the Bureau of Otherworldly Operations – the ghost world’s elite counter-haunting unit – and ultimately must face off against the planet’s greatest haunter.

The movie is set to hit cinemas in June 2015.
