Earlier this year we had a laugh at some of the most common examples of misheard lyrics (or ‘mondegreens’ to use their proper term) in pop music.

But Christmas songs and traditional carols – with their unusual and old-fashioned words – make for an even more fertile breeding ground of clangers.
