Cassette Store Day will take place on September 27 this year, with releases from artists on both sides of the Atlantic.

The event looks to celebrate the idea of buying your music on cassette tape as “a physical product that is accessible, fun, cheap and still going strong in the turbulent current musical climate”, according to organisers.

UK acts who will be releasing material in the cassette format include White Lung, Ash and These New Puritans.

Whilst artists across the pond who will be joining in the celebration of all things analogue include Julian Casablancas, Best Coast, Cloud Nothings and Karen O.

Last year’s events were successful enough to warrant this year’s return, with the Cassette Store Day official Facebook page currently running with the bio description ‘Turns out it wasn’t a shit idea after all…’

More information on this years’ releases can be found on the official website.

Would you still buy cassette tapes?
