Production company Summit Entertainment is lining up Tom Cruise for a role in their planned reboot of 1986 action classic Highlander.
The reboot of the sci-fi fantasy has been in production limbo for quite some time, with multiple directors having been attached as well as the film undergoing a series of script re-writes.
However, Summit are hoping that bringing in a star name such as Cruise will see the film kickstarted into production.
According to The Wrap, Cruise is in line for the mentor role, played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original.
Nothing is signed as of yet but expect more official news to come as Summit look to bring their planned reboot to the big screen.
