The report (and we’re in rumour territory here folks) that Chris Pratt is now favourite to play Indiana Jones in Disney’s planned revival of the franchise seems to have captured the imagination of fans around the world.
Yes, even those who sat through Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
According to Deadline, the Guardians of the Galaxy star is being targeted by Disney as the man to don Harrison Ford’s frayed fedora as they look to develop the franchise after purchasing the rights from Paramount in 2013.
Of course, some would argue that perhaps it’s best to leave the past along, and it’s time that Hollywood came up with some new ideas and original screenplays.
But then again, this is Hollywood we’re talking about.
So if anyone is to take on the role of the dashing archaeologist, Pratt seems like a good fit, after he showed he can step up to leading man level on Guardians without ditching the comedy talent that made his name on Parks and Recreation.
It just depends whether Pratt can find the time, with promotion duties around Jurassic World this summer, a role in The Magnificent Seven remake alongside Denzel Washington, and a new Guardians movie scheduled for 2017.
Do you reckon Pratt would make a good Indiana Jones?
