The Lawn Club FB

This weekend sees the return of World Gin Day, so why not celebrate with a tipple in one of the best gin joints in Manchester?

Whether you’re looking for a small batch, hand crafted distillation, or just a summery gin-based cocktail to relax with on a balmy evening, we’ve picked five of our favourite spots in Manchester for a G&T or two.

Allotment

Nestled in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, new gin bar Allotment offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life with its pretty greenery. Laze the day away on their picnic benches or prop the bar up and sample the gins. Try an Aviation cocktail – Daffy’s Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, Crème de Violette, lemon juice and zest, or a Fig Martini – Beefeater and Cointreau muddled with sugar, lemon juice and fresh figs.

Atlas

Atlas on Deansgate has been a Manchester institution for last two decades. They are a gin specialist with a whopping 170 different gins and counting – and a changing gin of the week at half price, so you can always try something new without breaking the bank. The Gin Bible menu with tasting notes and the knowledgeable staff will guide you through the extensive selection, and then you can relax on the sun terrace with your gin of choice.

The mezzanine bar at Gorilla hosts the Gin Parlour, a relaxed and sophisticated den dedicated to the consumption of glorious gin. Stocked with the best gins from around the world – small batch, hand crafted distillations and all the diverse styles they need for a specialist cocktail list. Try the house produced buttered gin with pineapple and Fentimans tonic, a Ginger Gin Sling, or the Corpse Reviver Number 2 with Millers gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Lillet Blanc, Absinthe and lemon.

The Lawn Club offers a seasonal cocktail list which captures a quintessentially British ambience. Gin is a particular feature of the drinks menu with some of the best, small batch distillations the world has to offer. Try a Garden Martini – Burleighs Distiller’s Cut gin, rose liqueur, Gancia dry vermouth, elderflower and sugar, or a classic Negroni – Beefeater, Gancia sweet vermouth, Campari and orange bitters.
