The perfect introduction to Leeds’ LGBT scene, Viaduct is a bar with a dancefloor, and some of the most cave-like underground toilets you’ll find. It also has some of the best drinks deals in any bar in Leeds. Viaduct acts as the perfect bar for a pre-Mission or Queens Court night or as the perfect venue for show nights and drag or tribute acts, including the finest of Ru Paul’s stars.

The back half of Mission, this venue plays host to two LGBT club nights per week, a popular classic for locals, students and visiting friends.
HOMO, on Monday nights, is the best way to begin a week. With lights, podiums and drink deals, it is a quintessential LGBT night out, but always slightly quieter than its Saturday partner and, if you’re counting the pennies, probably about half the price.
Saturday’s Cloud 9, however, is the busier partner. Playing a great mix of music and dragging the podiums back out for another go, this night is open till late. Make sure you make the most of Viaduct before, with a smoking area that leads you right into the Mission queue…

An odd mix of two venues, Queens Court has a downstairs with cheap and cheerful deals, happy hours before 9pm and music bingo nights on a Wednesday. The smoking area, in an alleyway leading to Call Lane, is one of the best ways to have a breather and a rest from upstairs, The Loft. This is one of the most comfortable and inviting LGBT club spaces in the city; its tiny dancefloor is reached by a long corridor of seating providing you the perfect mix of chat and dance. And the DJ will play anything you ask. Seriously, anything.

This is an underrated but incredible LGBT space, a bar and venue run by a co-operative in partnership with a members’ club. This space is less of a club and more of a bar with board games, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They also host a variety of events such as the Leeds Queer Film Festival and and Vegan Roadshow. The interesting management of the organisation means it puts on events for members by members. Give it a go, you’ll not regret it.
