Over the last five years there’s been a seismic shift in the perception of gin; where once it was seen as a tipple your gran used to enjoy, it’s now a drink anyone can feel comfortable ordering at the bar.
From gin-inspired cocktails to entire clubs devoted to the beloved spirit, there’s sure to be something to tickle your fancy in Sheffield’s drinking dens.

Sometimes, you just want a good old-fashioned G&T, other times you want your gin to be a little special. That’s where Anchorage comes in. These guys might be new to our steely streets, but they’ve already made a big impression, serving a range of gin-filled cocktails. Try their Gin Geenie, which is a perfect mix of cloudy apple juice, Sauvignon Blanc, vanilla and Tanqueray.

The staff at Shakespeares are connoisseurs when it comes to fine spirits. You may already be aware of this tasty snippet of information, but they have an epic range of whiskies along with a taste for gin. Some of their delectable highlights include Sipsmith, Hendricks and Jensen’s. Ask any of the bar staff to recommend you a gin and they’ll be sure to help you out. Oh, and if you’re on a budget, they stock Beefeater too.
