Homemade by Thelma’s
Nestled in the suburbia of Nether Edge, check out Homemade by Thelma’s Burger and Shake Wednesday nights, which are rumoured to return in the spring. Expect delectable burger combos for veggies and meat-eaters alike. If you can’t wait until then, you may be lucky enough to spy a burger on their daily menu – loving the sound of an edamame, tofu, sesame burger, miso-pickled red cabbage and salad.

Get yourself down to Kelham Island and pop into the The Riverside. They have real ales on tap, a beer garden, regular live music and the Twisted Burger company (as found at the Harley) are the guys behind the burgers. The menu features – rashers delight – bacon patty, Monterey jack, slaw and Russian dressing through to the hallouminati – double halloumi patty, roasted red pepper and jalapeno salsa. You can add extras with a choice of sides and fries – hellfire seasoning anyone?

With a U.S-influenced menu and rustic style, you can enjoy a burger together with a selection of craft beers or cocktails. The old fire station on Division Street is home to Bungalows and Bears and a spoilt-for choice burger menu with over ten to choose from. Fear X Loathing can be found on West Street and their ethos is simple – burgers, beer, music and good times. The burger menu covers all tastes with beef, chicken, lamb and veggie choices. Burger fans can feast on the chilli jam chicken burger with cheese and spinach, smoked bacon and cheese beef burger or go veggie with portobello mushroom and halloumi. Revolucion De Cuba
You might not have considered Cuban-styled Revolucion on Mappin Street as your first choice when deciding where to go for burgers but you should. On the menu there’s a ‘Hamburguesas’ section dedicated to the joys of burger with the Cuban stack – flat-iron beef topped with manchego cheese, pork & chorizo with smoked cheddar or go for a more maverick choice of surf and turf, a beef burger topped with calamari and garlic aioli. All are served in brioche and come with rum mayo, fries and slaw.
