Manchester brewery to host monthly street food fair
Grub Food Fair

Street food event organisers Grub have revealed plans for their first ever regular event, which will take place at Runaway Brewery every month.

Grub Food Fair will bring together a variety of independent street food traders each month combined with craft beer from Runaway and music from local alternative DJs.

A second bar will serve wine, spirits cider and soft drinks for non-beer drinkers at the venue close to Victoria station in the Green Quarter.

Grub say they’re aiming to showcase quality food traders and create the atmosphere associated with the growing popularity of Manchester brew taps.

The first event will take place on Saturday March 19, and street food traders involved will include Boerewors Bloke (traditional Dutch sausage grilled South African style), No Tacos (fusion tacos mixing the Mexican street snack with cuisine from across the world), Chaat Cart (Indian street food specialising in Dosa) and bakehouse Blawd Co who serve up doughnuts, cakes and bakes at venues across Manchester including Common and North Tea Power.

Grub’s Jason Bailey said: “It’s a fantastic feeling to finally have a space where we can grow an event month after month, not only that but we’re stoked to be working with one of Manchester’s best brewers. We believe this has the potential to be great for Manchester’s food and drink scene but more importantly, add another exciting element to this growing community in Angel Meadow and the Green Quarter.”

Darren Clayson, director at Runaway Brewery, added: “We are really excited to be involved in the growing brew tap scene in Manchester. Working with our friends at Grub and their fantastic street food traders makes this an event better event and something really novel in the UK which we are proud to be a part of.”
