Award-winning gourmet steak restaurant Kyloe is the perfect place for a celebratory meal or special occasion. The steaks are all sourced from Scottish farms and are dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days to ensure a rich flavour. If the usual steaks don’t take your fancy, they also have a “guest breeds” menu which changes frequently so you can try out the likes of Belted Galloway, Highland and Dexter steaks. Wildfire only has a few tables inside its cosy Rose Street restaurant, so it’s definitely worth booking in advance if you fancy trying their delicious steaks. Locally sourced and simply prepared, the Aberdeen Angus steaks speak for themselves. Wildfire also specialise in fresh Scottish seafood, so try the Surf and Turf option for your choice of steak topped with sauteed prawns and garlic and parsley butter.

This restaurant really does what it says on the tin. Steak serves up succulent steaks from butcher Donald Russell, a Royal Warrant holder and trusted supplier to H.M. The Queen. Head to Steak to try some royally good beef for yourself, including cuts of steak on the bone for extra flavour. For an extra special treat, try the Chateaubriand to share which is cooked to order and carved at your table.

Leith Chop House
Leith Chop House source their meat from artisan supplies, then leave it to age for a minimum of 35 days before it’s butchered on-site and cooked on the custom designed open flame charcoal grill. This results in amazingly fresh steaks with a hint of smokey flavour, served up in the Chop House’s stylish bar and restaurant. For delicious steaks with a difference, head to South African restaurant Shebeen. Their 35 day aged steaks are marinated in a special Shebeen spice rub to enhance the natural flavour of the beef, and are served with traditional South African sauces like Monkey Gland and Chakalaka.
