Stranger Things season 2 announced with cryptic teaser

The second season of hit Netflix sci-fi show Stranger Things has been unveiled with a mysterious teaser trailer.

Details are thin on the ground for now, but we know Stranger Things 2 will land sometime next year, writers and creators Matt and Ross Duffer will return, and nine new episodes are confirmed for the second season.

And then there’s this cryptic video:

Overlaying the show’s now instantly-recognisable title sequence are phrases like ‘Madmax’, ‘The Boy Who Came Back To Life’ and ‘The Lost Brother’.

The most obvious explanation is that these are episode titles, especially as there are nine of them.

It also hints at the same ’80s film influence that dominated the acclaimed first season.

The Duffer brothers recently confirmed that the second season would take place a year on from the first, and be partly inspired by Indiana Jones – especially the movie Temple Of Doom.

The same principal cast are expected to return.
